firewood

Firewood is pieces of tree wood that have been dried to be used as fuel for igniting a fire and obtaining thermal energy that is used for several household purposes, including heating, cooking and boiling water . The one who works on cutting wood and turning it into firewood is called a lumberjack. Many homes still use the traditional fireplace and ignite it using wood in the winter and cold days.

On the industrial level, firewood was used as a main source of thermal energy until the beginning of the nineteenth century, after which it was replaced first by coal and then by oil . As alternatives to cheap energy , the Egyptians devised a way to convert cottonwood into charcoal with high capacity and at a cheaper cost than many other methods.
