Botanical description

The tree

The tree is evergreen and perennial, and has the ability to withstand harsh environmental conditions such as drought, stony lands, shallow and fertile soil [32] . The root system is shallow, not deep, especially in irrigated crops, its depth is between 40-70 cm. The trunk of young trees is smooth and round, and with age it loses its roundness as some parts grow at the expense of others. It is thick and thickens with the age of the tree, and is twisted and full of veins and twists. The height of the tree is usually between 3-6 m, although it may reach 10-12 m in some varieties , species, and conditions.
